Command Field –

/n – ends the transaction

/i – ends the session

/o – opens a session

Search_sap_Menu – will let u search for and display menu path for a transaction ( U can enter text string as well)

FIELD specific short cuts

F1 on a field – pulls up field help.

F4 on a field – pulls up possible entries

MENU BAR options

Extras –> Setting - will allow user to select

· Display favorites at the end of list

· Do not display menu, display only favorites

· Display technical names

· Do not display picture

Extras → Set start transaction – allows u to set a start transaction.

Enter a transaction of your choice then choose Enter. The next time you log on, the system will go directly to your start transaction. To change back to SAP Easy Access as the initial screen, follow the menu path again, delete the transaction code and select Enter. The next time you log on, SAP Easy Access will be the initial screen

System Menu and Help menu are always present on screen and offer exact same options.

System - Status -> gives the function name and transaction code corresponding to the menu path.

System Menu – User Profile –Own Data -> lets a user to set up defaults for the user.

E.g.

1. Defaults tab – set up logon language, set up decimal notation and date format.

2. Parameters tab - user can set default for a frequently used field but the parameter ID is required to set up default values.

How to find Parameter ID?? Go to the field for which u want to set up parameter ID and press F1, then go to Technical Info. The system displays an information window that contains the relevant parameter ID under the heading Field Data (as long as the field has been assigned a Parameter ID).

Customize Table Settings – If u see a table control icon on the top right corner of the table, click it to modify table columns visibility or width. Save the new table settings as variant (no. of variants per table is not restricted; u can add or delete user defined variants). The first variant is basic setting which is defined by SAP and cannot be deleted from the system by users. The table settings are stored with your user name and are valid until u exit the application. If you then select the application again, the system will use the standard settings valid for this table.

1)      DATA MART LAYER

It is a reporting layer to support the known.

It can be used for tactical or strategic reporting with highly aggregated data.

It can be used for operational reporting where data is less aggregated.

Unlike Operational DataStore, the data is integrated because it is loaded form EDW layer.

2)      ENTERPRISE DATA WAREHOUSE LAYER

It is a corporate memory.

·         Single point of truth for auditing

Allows Vertical consistency i.e. the data flow of each master record and transaction record in data mart is traceable.

·         Completeness

Date is granular and not aggregated.

Data is not overwritten but new information can be added.

Provides complete history

·         Controlled Extraction and data staging

Extracted only once and deployed to several data marts.

·         Integration

Data is integrated.

3)      OPERATIONAL DATA STORE Layer

The "Operational Data Store Layer" typically comprises operational data that is closely

related to the transactions.

·         Fast loading of mass data with a relatively short lifespan, but a high load frequency.

·         List Reporting at document level.

·         Data distribution to subsequent data targets
